ACAMS

Digitally transformed the Mississippi Health Department’s manual, paper-based case tracking system into a secure, intelligent, and user-centered web platform.

The Discovery

When I joined Acro Technologies, I learned that the Mississippi Health Department was managing thousands of case files manually using paper-based records and spreadsheets. This manual system caused delays in approvals, data loss risks, inconsistent case tracking, and communication gaps among departments.

Caseworkers struggled to locate information quickly, and the absence of a centralized platform made collaboration nearly impossible.

The Goal

My goal was to design a digital case management system (ACAMS) that replaced paper files with an intuitive, secure, and accessible platform.

The vision was to enable faster case resolution, ensure data accuracy, and empower teams to work collaboratively — while maintaining HIPAA compliance and data privacy standards.

Design Focus

  • Introduced a centralized, modular dashboard that unified case intake, review, and closure processes.
  • Designed smart digital forms with validation and autofill to eliminate redundant data entry.
  • Created role-based views for administrators, reviewers, and field officers.
  • Added real-time analytics and status tracking, allowing users to monitor progress instantly.
  • Developed a scalable design system ensuring visual and functional consistency across all modules.

Impact

  • Transformed a 100% manual process into a fully digital workflow for the Mississippi Health Department.
  • Reduced case handling time by 40% and minimized data entry errors by 32%.
  • Improved inter-departmental communication through shared dashboards and automated notifications.
  • Helped the department move toward a paperless, transparent, and efficient case management ecosystem.
